Hand crafted lampwork beads are painstakingly created one at a time by bead artists using specialized glass and a high temperature propane torch. Each bead has its own character and is in itself a work of art. A true bead artist brings incredible depth to each bead, and each artist has their own signature style. Indeed the designs, and even the beads themselves, are as individual and as varied as the artists who create them.
The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a phenomenal topaz, yellow, green and burgundy red lampwork pillow bead with applied autumn leaves, hand crafted by glass artist Debby Gwaltney, nestled into a gold plated filigree bead cap and a Turkish vermeil (genuine 22kt. gold over vermeil) filigree bead cap. A gold plated topaz crystal rhinestone rondelle occupies the center position. A Swarovski Olivine Aurora Borealis bicone crystal, topped with an ornate Turkish vermeil filigree bead cap, sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the hair jewelry design. The hair sticks are elegantly carved bone hand painted in a whispy, abstract design of topaz, gold, olivine green and burgundy under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind hair accessories measure 5 7/8" long from end to end.
