Venetian glass beads are hand made by master glassblowers in Venice, Italy on the Island of Murano, and are considered to be the finest art glass beads in all the world. The beads seen today can be traced all the way back to the 11th century, when the beadmakers were executed if they attempted to leave the island with their precious beadmaking secrets!
The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a gorgeous Venetian art glass lampwork bead in amethyst purple with ribbons of light amethyst and sparkling gold aventurine captured within, nestled into a Turkish vermeil (genuine 22kt. gold over sterling silver) filigree bead cap. A Swarovski Light Amethyst margarita (flower shaped) crystal occupies the center position. A Swarovski Amethyst crystal with spectacular rectangular faceting, topped with an ornate Turkish vermeil filigree bead cap, sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the design. The hairsticks are hand carved bone dyed elegant black. These one-of-a-kind special edition LongLocks hair accessories measure 5 3/4" long from end to end.
