Going Blonde
Aug 9th, 2005 at 2:30am

I'm a brunette and loving it... but it seems my hair is slowly getting bleached by the sun.  My tips are almost completely blonde.  Is there anything I can treat my hair with to protect it from the sun?

There are leave-ins with actual sunscreen in them - but I don't know for sure if they prevent color fading.

Kiehls has one of these...of course there is always a bun with the lower parts tucked under but it would still fade where the sun does hit...g

I guess there are products containing sunscreen. But...I would still recommend wearing a hat or scarf so that at least the ends get protected. Experiment with styles to see what suits you.

I've used a braid + bandana tied to triangle combination and scarf buns most.

Well, I guess I should've checked my own cabinet before I asked questions!  Yesterday I found a bottle of Tresemme 'melting gel' that I used to use, and it's supposedly a UV protectant!  I'm trying it out right now and I'm surprised at how it doesn't seem to have left much build-up at all--my hair feels the same!  I just hope it really is doing what it says it will do.  Tongue
