I've been using my sock curling method "forever".  It gives me great waves and soft curls.  If I want more curl, I will braid my hair for a tighter wave.

Whenever I want curl, I want lots of it, so I usually will rag roll my hair, which is virtually the same as using sock rollers, but you use thinner strips of material. I actually haven't tried sock curling yet, but I do plan to soon, it sounds fabulous! I also like to braid my hair if I'm in the mood for waves.

I gave up curling my hair since my wedding. If I use a curling iron it takes over an hour and my hair is flat in five minutes. Could someone please give a step-by-step for sock curling? I have never heard of it.

Thanks!

Sock curls are made by wrapping your hair around a clean sock - roll it up towards your head then tie the ends of the sock to hold it there.  This makes a soft roller that can be slept on.  If your hair is "hard to curl", it helps to have the hair damp when you roll it.  Do not roll wet hair as it may never dry!

If you have very thick or very long hair, you might want to use more than one sock to divide the hair.  I can get all my hair wrapped up in one sock, but two is easier and gives me a more defined wave to my hair.
