My strands are very thick but seriously lacks in density on my scalp. There are women with a full head of many fine hairs who will have a larger diameter when they put their hair in a ponytail than me. In 7th grade we all pulled a hair out of our heads and put it under a stetoscope (or whatever it's called) and mine was the thickest.
Hairdressers spend less time trimming my hair when I have layers and graduated ends than when it's all one length and they have to cut a straight line

Ten years ago I sat in a salon chair for the better part of an hour while a frustrated hairdresser tried to trim ½" off the bottom

Besides insisting on movement, texture, and blah, blah, blah.....I also think this is part of the reason why most hairdressers will insist that I need whispy ends

Right now that it's still a bob length, it's a good thing that the ends fold under themselves because when my hair is wet and hangs straight, it's so clear that the ends aren't straight.
