Dichroic glass is created using layers of metallic oxides. The beautiful colorplay for which these beads are known occurs when light strikes the glass. Every piece of dichroic glass displays three colors: a color that is reflected, a color that is transmitted, and a reflective color that is viewable from a 45-degree angle. These properties allow the colors in this spectacular glass to change as light hits it from different angles.
Be still my heart! The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a incredible amethyst purple and tanzanite dichroic glass bead nestled into a gold plated fluted bead cap. A Swarovski Amethyst bicone crystal occupies the center position. A Swarovski Tanzanite bicone crystal sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the design. The hair sticks are elegantly hand carved bone, dyed black and finished in flashes of amethyst purple and tanzanite special effect metallic pigment under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind hair accessories measure 5 5/8" from end to end.
