Hand crafted lampwork beads are painstakingly created one at a time by bead artists using specialized glass and a high temperature propane torch. Each bead has its own character and is in itself a work of art. A true bead artist brings incredible depth to each bead, and each artist has their own signature style. Indeed the designs, and even the beads themselves, are as individual and as varied as the artists who create them.
The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with an awesome encased light amethyst purple and white twisted cane lampwork bead by glass artist Bill Grout, nestled into an ornate vermeil (genuine 22kt. gold over sterling silver) filigree bead cap. A gold plated light amethyst purple rhinestone rondelle occupies the center position. A Swarovski Light Amethyst Aurora Borealis bicone crystal, topped with an ornate Turkish vermeil filigree bead cap, sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the hair jewelry design. The hair sticks are elegantly carved bone, hand painted in light amethyst purple with a glittering finish, under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind special edition LongLocks hair accessories measure 5 3/4" long from end to end.
