Venetian glass beads are made in Venice, Italy on the island of Murano. The beads seen today can be traced to the 11th century, when the beadmakers were executed if they attempted to leave the island with their precious beadmaking secrets! The end of each hair pin is adorned with a vintage rose Venetian art glass bead filled with glittering gold aventurine, nestled into a goldplated filigree bead cap. A vintage Swarovski Light Rose bicone crystal occupies the center position. A vintage Swarovski Light Rose Aurora Borealis bicone crystal sits below. Goldplated heishi beads complete the design. The sticks are natural hand engraved bone, detailed in sparkling gold. The completed hair ornaments measure 5 7/8" from end to end.
