 Please be sure to read the terms concerning special order versions of LongLocks HairSticks on our Ordering Information page before requesting a design.  There is only one special order version of this design available. West German glass artists have been making spectacular crystal and glass beads since the end of the 13th century and almost all glass beads found in jewelry made from the early 18th century until the first half of the 20th century were made in West Germany. Glass beads were smuggled out of West Germany in the mid 20th century, when the country was divided between east and west, with the help of border guards who would mark West German shipments "East Germany" to ensure their safe passage. Today vintage West German beads are eagerly sought after and coveted among collectors. The end of each of these hair pins is adorned with a gorgeous frosted rose pink vintage West German givré (color injected) lampwork bead, nestled into a silver plated filigree bead cap. Another frosted rose pink vintage West German givré lampwork bead, topped with a silver plated filigree bead cap, sits below. Silver plated heishi beads complete the hair jewelry design. The hair pins are elegantly carved wood, hand painted in rose pink, under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind extra long Rapunzel length hair accessories measure 7 1/4" from end to end.
