Venetian art glass beads are made in Venice, Italy on the island of Murano. The beads seen today can be traced to the 11th century, when the beadmakers were executed if they attempted to leave the island with their precious beadmaking secrets! The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a gorgeous purple Venetian art glass bead, with pink roses, tiny delicate flowers and ribbons of sparkling gold aventurine captured within, nestled into a gold plated fluted bead cap. An aqua blue aurora borealis crystal occupies the center position. A vintage Swarovski Rose Aurora Borealis crystal sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the design. The hair sticks are hand carved bone, finished in a lovely floral design under layers of protective clear enamel. The hair accessories measure 5 3/4" from end to end.
