There are only two special order versions of this design available.
Hand crafted lampwork beads are painstakingly created one at a time by bead artists using specialized glass and a high temperature propane torch. Each bead has its own character and is in itself a work of art. A true bead artist brings incredible depth to each bead, and each artist has their own signature style. Indeed the designs, and even the beads themselves, are as individual and as varied as the artists who create them.
The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a mesmerizing alexandrite glass (which changes dramatically from sky blue to lavender purple depending on the light source) lampwork bead with applied lavender purple swirls by glass artist Victoria Burby, nestled into a double-ended Turkish sterling silver bead cap. An extremely rare vintage Swarovski Light Sapphire bicone crystal occupies the center position. A Swarovski Alexandrite Aurora Borealis crystal, topped with an ornate Turkish sterling silver filigree bead cap, sits below. Silver plated heishi beads complete the design. The hair sticks are elegantly carved bone, hand finished in an abstract decoupage design of violet, lavender purple, aqua blue, and fuchsia pink, under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind special edition LongLocks hair accessories measure 5 3/4" from end to end.
