Venetian art glass beads are made in Venice, Italy on the island of Murano. The beads seen today can be traced to the 11th century, when the beadmakers were executed if they attempted to leave the island with their precious beadmaking secrets! The end of each of these sparkling hair accessories is adorned with a stunning vintage Venetian glass bead in olivine green and sparkling aventurine, nestled into a copper filigree bead cap. A rare vintage Swarovski Light Olivine Aurora Borealis bicone crystal occupies the center position. A Swarovski Aurum bicone crystal, with a genuine 24kt. gold finish, sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the hair jewelry design. The hair sticks are elegantly hand carved bone finished in olivine with a glittering gold and bronze finish, gradienting in intensity towards the top of the hair sticks, under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind hair accessories measure 5 5/8" from end to end.
