There are only two special order versions of this design available.
Industrialized glass making began in the Czech Republic, formerly known as Czechoslovakia, in the early 15th century. Local production throughout the country was characterized by many small workshops that specialized in the blowing, engraving, cutting and the painting of glass and crystal. Bohemian glass was originally thought to be magical, as was Prague considered a magical city. Bohemian glass has been famous worldwide since the 18th century, although local production of glass actually started in the 14th century. Bohemian glass is still very popular today and is used extensively throughout the jewelry making industry.
This LongLocks IndividualiStix hair jewelry design is done in the LongLocks GlimmerStix style. The end of the hair pin is adorned with a gorgeous frosted olivine green Bohemian lampwork bead with a floral vine of jonquil yellow, rose pink, teal blue and white, nestled into a gold plated filigree bead cap. A gold plated jonquil yellow crystal rhinestone rondelle occupies the center position. An olivine green teardrop crystal, topped with a gold plated filigree bead cap, sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the hair jewelry design. The hair stick is crafted of bone, carved into an elegant twist and hand painted in satiny olivine green under layers of protective clear enamel. This one-of-a-kind LongLocks hair pin measures 5 7/8" long from end to end.
