Iolite, also known as water sapphire, is an absolutely stunning gemstone. It is trichroic, showing three different colors depending on the angle from which it is viewed! The stone appears to be deep to violet blue when viewed directly from the table.
These gorgeous LongLocks GemStix certainly have a complex personality! They are done in the LongLocks GlimmerStix, LongLocks SwingStix, and LongLocks SterlingStix styles! A sterling silver flower set with a large genuine iolite gemstone dangles from the end of each hair pin, suspended from a silverplated bail. A rare vintage Swarovski Montana Blue Aurora Borealis oval crystal graces the end of each hair stick. A genuine sterling silver lantern bead occupies the center position. Another Swarovski Montana Blue Aurora Borealis oval crystal sits below. Silverplated heishi beads complete the design. The sticks are intricately hand engraved bone, finished in satiny navy blue. The completed hair ornaments measure 5 7/8" from end to end (excluding dangle).
