Hand crafted lampwork beads are painstakingly created one at a time by bead artists using specialized glass and a high temperature propane torch. Each bead has its own character and is in itself a work of art. A true bead artist brings incredible depth to each bead, and each artist has their own signature style. Indeed the designs, and even the beads themselves, are as individual and as varied as the artists who create them.
The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a phenomenal encased tanzanite purple and silvery light rose pink lampwork pillow bead, hand crafted by glass artist Robin Weber, nestled between two silver plated filigree bead caps and into a Turkish sterling silver filigree bead cap. A silver plated light rose pink crystal rhinestone rondelle occupies the center position. A Swarovski Tanzanite bicone crystal, topped with an ornate Turkish sterling silver filigree bead cap, sits below. Silver plated heishi beads complete the design. The hair sticks are elegantly carved bone, hand painted in an ultra-pearlescent marbelized design of tanzanite purple and light rose pink on black, under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind special edition LongLocks hair accessories measure 5 7/8" long from end to end.
