Hand crafted lampwork beads are painstakingly created one at a time by bead artists using specialized glass and a high temperature propane torch. Each bead has its own character and is in itself a work of art. A true bead artist brings incredible depth to each bead, and each artist has their own signature style. Indeed the designs, and even the beads themselves, are as individual and as varied as the artists who create them.
The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a magnificent deep red, jet black and silver lampwork lentil bead, hand crafted by glass artist Candice Mathewson, nestled between two silver plated filigree bead caps and into a double-ended Turkish sterling silver bead cap. A Swarovski Siam Satin bicone crystal sits below. Silver plated heishi beads complete the hair jewelry design. The hair sticks are dyed black bone, hand finished with a glittering holographic special effect lacquer that flashes a multicolor rainbow of tiny sparkles, under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind special edition LongLocks hair pins measure 6" long from end to end.
