Hand crafted lampwork beads are painstakingly created one at a time by bead artists using specialized glass and a torch. Each bead has its own character and is in itself a work of art. A true bead artist brings incredible depth to each bead, and each artist has their own signature style. Indeed, the designs are as individual and as varied as the artists who create them.
This feminine Special Edition LongLocks IndividualiStix hair jewelry design is done in the LongLocks GlimmerStix style. The end of the hair pin is adorned with a breathtaking opaque white glass lampwork bead by renowned bead artist Mavis Smith, with green leaves, a ribbon of sparkling gold aventurine and a ring of delicate pink roses around its edge, nestled into a vermeil (genuine 22kt. gold over sterling silver) bead cap. An opaque white cushion crystal occupies the center position. A vintage Swarovski Rose Aurora Borealis crystal, topped with a vermeil filigree bead cap, sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the hair jewelry design. The hair stick is intricately hand engraved bone, finished in shimmering pearl white under layers of protective clear enamel. This one-of-a-kind hair pin measures 5 5/8" from end to end.
