Hand crafted lampwork beads are painstakingly created one at a time by bead artists using specialized glass and a high temperature propane torch. Each bead has its own character and is in itself a work of art. A true bead artist brings incredible depth to each bead, and each artist has their own signature style. Indeed the designs, and even the beads themselves, are as individual and as varied as the artists who create them.
The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a slightly different but coordinating scrumptious encased peach lampwork bead with applied sage green designs, hand crafted by glass artist Serena Smith, nestled into a Turkish vermeil (genuine 22kt. gold over sterling silver) filigree bead cap. A Swarovski Erinite cushion crystal occupies the center position. A peach bicone crystal, topped with an ornate Turkish vermeil filigree bead cap, sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the design. The hair sticks are carved bone finished in a rosebud design in hues of peach and sage green beneath a glittering sugared finish, under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind special edition LongLocks hair accessories measure 5 3/4" long from end to end.
