Title: hair style file Post by jennak on Jun 21st, 2003 at 1:22am
So does anyone else have a file folder(or whatever) that they put photos like magazine cut outs etc. in of hairstyles /updos they like, want to try? I was just going through some of the things I tear out of mags and found my file ;D. It's so cool. Since I have been on this message board, I have been able to acheive at least two of the looks I wanted ;D. I have also found that I have acquired alot more accessories for helping me acheive these looks and others.Plus, I have been taking much better care of my hair. So thanks to you all for the continued insiration. Happy Solstice!
Blessings, Jenna |

I do have a folder that contains hairstyles. I actually call it my "Beauty Book," as it's got hairstyles, facials, beauty recipes, etc. What I do is I put the hairstyle in and write instructions how to do it, so that whenever I get bored of a style or am looking for a new one, I look in there and try one of them. Or it just gives me inspiration or shows me a new style to do. Some of them are complicated updos and braids and some are just simple styles that I put there to jog my memory.
Sorry to be ignorant, but what's Solstice :-[? |

There are two Solstices per year(Summer and Winter) and two Equinoxes(Spring and Autumn/Fall). Summer Solstice is the longest day and shortest night of the year and Winter Solstice is just the opposite. It is sometimes called Midsummer(as in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream) and is the first day of Summer in this part of the world. So in essence, I am saying Happy Summer.

Oh, I forget to say that I love the idea of making a beauty book. Mind if I copy?

Of course not! ;D I use my beauty book after a rough time (say after exams finish); I'll treat myself to a really nice facial, do a cool hairstyle, give myself a manicure and pedicure... and in my book everything is at my fingertips!
Oh and one more thing! Like I said, I sometimes put simple hairstyles in there to jog my memory. When it comes to braids/variations, I will put the instructions to the braid on one side and then put examples of it on another side. If you go to the dreamweaver site, she gives instructions and then if you click Braid Examples you can get a few examples to put on your example page! It's fun expermeting :P! |

Right,I thought I was the only one having a hair-folder ;D I keep newspaper clippings/printouts about people with long hair,hair-care routines, haircare product reviews and styles. So whenever I have a bad hair day and feel tempted to cut-looking at these normally lifts my mood instantly :P

I know, I have been getting Victoria magazine for years and had like 7 years worth of magazines to sort through because I was moving. What a goldmine of beautiful hair! So many lovely updos. That and seeing photos of me with short hair(and now this website and others) are a major deterrant from the shears.
I think I will start my beauty book today. What fun! ;D |
