Title: Next Monday Post by MyAlteredImage on Apr 1st, 2004 at 4:17am
My two female business partners came back after lunch today from a morning meeting. They came in laughing and giggling and placed an envelope in front of me on my desk and suggested I open it. I did - and it was basically a pseudo-invitation, for an appointment next Monday afternoon at a local Aveda salon. The two girls have set me up with a 3 hour appointment at the salon with the assistant manager/senior stylist who also happens to be a long hair fan. One of the girls goes to the salon and knows this lady/assistant manager both through the salon and also personally. So after their appointment this morning the two girls went to the salon and explained my decision and their support of what I am trying to achieve and set up the appointment.
They have paid for this up front as a gift and show of support to me, which I really appreciate. It includes a consultation (which they told me means that this lady will give me lots of tips and advice and make suggestions for how I can work to my goals), also a deep conditioning treatment, a trim/re-style based on the consultation and she's also going to give me some basic hands on training and practice to some of the basics, such as making a decent ponytail and what to use etc. I am in sore need of some direction here! It's actually been about 5 months since I have had a cut/trim so I was in need of one soon anyway. But this is going to be really neat I think. Hopefully this will get me started on a better footing towards much longer hair. I know I will have to think of lots of questions for her. But is there anything I should in particular think to ask (since I don't know too much, I don't know what I should be asking LOL!). Also in terms of the conditioning treatment that they have planned and the trim/re-style is there anything that I should avoid or be cautious of that they might do? I would love to sound semi-intelligent in front of her and say, oh you shouldn't do that because.... - that would be fun! I'll be sure to post back on this experience! Thanks M |

Your partners are very special people. Their gift sounds like a wonderful opportunity for you. :D
As for questions or things to watch out for......try to avoid any layering. Make sure the stylist knows you plan to grow your hair much longer. Other than that, I'd say some of the questions you've already asked would be good to ask. Be sure to report back how your experience was.....I'd love to have such an appointment. |
