Title: Quick! Say something EYE-CATCHING! Post by goofba11 on Aug 11th, 2004 at 9:40pm
;D Hi! I'm new here, too. I was trying to think of something interesting to say, but honestly...I got nuthin'. :-/
I'm 32, and I discovered 'hair boards' about a year ago. My hair is currently at my bra strap (when straightened), but my goal is to have butt-length hair so I'm really trying to pay attention to any and all advice. I don't have any chemicals in my hair, but my daughter has a brand new relaxer so you know I want to make sure that we take good care of our hair. If I can offer any help, I'll try, but I'm here mainly to learn from you Rapunzels out there. 8) |

Welcome! Eye-catching comments are not a requirement around here. Just a love of hair and a wish to grow it loooooong!

Thanks for the welcome, Bikerbraid! ;D
I was just browsing the "Show off your hair" section and OMG!!! :o You ladies have some super-loooooong, gorgeous hair! I'm embarrassed to even be here. Then again, that means I'm in the right place to learn from some serious Rapunzels. I know that genetics will play a role in just how long my hair will grow, but right now, it's the longest I've ever seen it. My mom used to keep my hair cut really short (like a boy). Then I did some experimenting for a while (which didn't turn out very well). Finally, I cut all of my hair off five years ago and decided to just start over. I can't wait to see how long I can get my hair to grow. :) My daughter's hair was natural her whole life (ten years), but it's thicker than mine, and she's very tender-headed, so I finally broke down and put a relaxer in her hair this summer. She's happier. We'll see how it goes. I'm not fond of chemicals, but I think I picked the right one for her hair. Anyways, yeah, so thanks for the welcome. 8) |

Starting with hair in good condition is the best way to get your hair to its desired length. Good luck in reaching your goals.
