Title: Quick! Say something EYE-CATCHING!
Post by goofba11 on Aug 11th, 2004 at 9:40pm
;D Hi! I'm new here, too.   I was trying to think of something interesting to say, but honestly...I got nuthin'.  :-/

I'm 32, and I discovered 'hair boards' about a year ago.   My hair is currently at my bra strap (when straightened), but my goal is to have butt-length hair so I'm really trying to pay attention to any and all advice.   I don't have any chemicals in my hair, but my daughter has a brand new relaxer so you know I want to make sure that we take good care of our hair.   If I can offer any help, I'll try, but I'm here mainly to learn from you Rapunzels out there.  8)

Welcome!  Eye-catching comments are not a requirement around here. Just a love of hair and a wish to grow it loooooong!

Thanks for the welcome, Bikerbraid!  ;D

I was just browsing the "Show off your hair" section and OMG!!!  :o You ladies have some super-loooooong, gorgeous hair! I'm embarrassed to even be here. Then again, that means I'm in the right place to learn from some serious Rapunzels.

I know that genetics will play a role in just how long my hair will grow, but right now, it's the longest I've ever seen it. My mom used to keep my hair cut really short (like a boy). Then I did some experimenting for a while (which didn't turn out very well). Finally, I cut all of my hair off five years ago and decided to just start over. I can't wait to see how long I can get my hair to grow.  :)

My daughter's hair was natural her whole life (ten years), but it's thicker than mine, and she's very tender-headed, so I finally broke down and put a relaxer in her hair this summer. She's happier. We'll see how it goes. I'm not fond of chemicals, but I think I picked the right one for her hair.

Anyways, yeah, so thanks for the welcome.  8)

Starting with hair in good condition is the best way to get your hair to its desired length.  Good luck in reaching your goals.
