Title: Another newbie Post by greek_lady on Sep 24th, 2004 at 5:11pm
Well, another newbie here. Haven't been lurking all that much, mostly buying sticks, lol
I have had long hair all my life and twice bad bad hairdressing salon ladies had cut it shorter than shoulder length. Didn't like it all, for sure, still cringe at the thought. >:( :'( Keeping my hair long has always made me feel so out of fashion. Are there other people out there who ever felt the same? Or is it just me? ??? My hair colour is dark brown and it gets slight reddish hues the longer it gets or after summer, but only slightly, lol. Have no idea how long it is, well below shoulder blades, well above my waist. You people out there, the mere fact there are others like me, inspired me to not trim it again as I was maintaining it in brastrap length. Now I am going to go back to sit-on-it length, or at least try and see if I can do it again. I'm greek and oh, did I mention I looove :D[glb]hairsticks?[/glb] Catchya all edited to finally replace "them" with "it" I always call my hair "them" lol |

Hiya greek_lady, and welcome! I think it's great that you have continued with wanting to grow your hair long despite the so-called "fashionable" hair agendas of people these days.
I for one, have never thought that long hair is unfashionable. It is one of the most classic feminine expressions of beauty a women can have. I think your brilliant for stickin to it. I'm trying to do the same! C-ya 'round the boards... |

Howdy greek_lady! Glad to see you come out of lurk-mode and join in. Anyone who loves hairsticks is certainly welcome here!
You will find lots of support here for your longer than average hair. Don't let anyone tell what length your hair should be. That is a very personal decision that only you should make. Long hair is actually very IN fashion right now, those who tell you otherwise just want you to conform to their tastes. I look forward to your participation around here. |

my friends are always telling me i need layers or should get a new hairstyle or cut my hair - they just don't understand how much i like my hair the way it is - they think i should be more like them i guess - i don't know - but be proud of your hair and wear it anyway you want to and don't let anyone change your mind :)

Thank you all for your replies. :D
Yes, I do persevere and so you all, that love your hair just like the way they are, should do. That way we can support each other against the onslaught of short and boyish haircuts, lol. ;D |
