Hi everybody!  I think this is a cool website, so I finally joined (obviously)!  So, now, a little about myself...
My mom calls me Rapunzel sometimes, but compared to everyone else here, my hair isn't all that long.  Right now it's about waist length.  I have thick hair, and it's medium brown with natural blond streaks.  I love to braid!  I started by braiding my own hair.  I learned how to french braid, and from there it just escalated... now I can do just about any Renaissance-type style I see a picture of.  I guess I'm an amateur braider of sorts.  I don't do cornrows though.  I got most of my ideas from copying the braids at DReamweaverbraiding.com, and other various websites.  Though I have created a few fancy ones of my own! so anyways, now you know a little about me... glad to me ya'll!

We can always use suggestions from braiders - amature or professional.  Sounds like you have quite a bit of experience.

Hi and Welcome, always happy to have another longhair fan joining!  :) I wish I was better at braiding, so far all I can do is an English braid and a Dutch braid.  I am trying to really hard to master the French braid, that's the one I really really want to do.  ;D

Thanks for the warm welcome!  I would love to add pics, but unfortunately I don't have a digital camera.  plus I'm not very technologically minded, and probably couldn't figure it out. ::)
Autumn, keep trying to braid!  it took me a long time before i could do a very neat-looking french braid, and the only way I get better is to practice.  IF you have a younger sister to work on, like I do, it helps a whole lot.  It is quite possible to braid fancy styles on yourself-that's how I learn- your arms just get more tired.  plus you ca'nt see what your'e doing.  So anyways, keep it up! ;)

Practicing is sooooo important to braiding.  Especially when doing your own hair.

I couldn't french braid if my life depended on it. Kate gave a really nice visual, something about being dragged through a tree backwards. (or Bach-wards I like to say) Braiding is such a great skill and I wish Wish WISH I had more patience for it. Kudos and kowtows to you!

Hiya BraiderSC! You're hair sounds lovely. That's brilliant you are so good at braiding. I'm absolutely diabolical at it.

I've tried to do French Braiding on myself (following the instructions on Dreamweaver braiding, a brillaint site!) but ended up with a knot on the back of me head.

I eventually succumbed to just doing regular braids at the nape of my neck or two "farmer girl" braids on the sides. Maybe someday I'll figure out the infamous French braid!

I love to braid also, but haven't been able to master anything much more complicated than a french or dutch braid.  (And master is the wrong word, but I can at least do those pretty quickly).  Someday soon I hope to be able to do multi strand braids and ropes that look good.
