Title: Hair sticks Post by novusfemina on Dec 3rd, 2004 at 2:53pm
I'm just wondering, but every time I buy hair sticks, I usually only choose the smoothest ones I can find. That said, I absolutely adore the carved sticks Rapunzel makes... and I know, inherently, that she'd never create anything that would be bad for your hair...
But doesn't carving cause rough edges? How does she make them and still have them be smooth? |

she finishes them with layers of enamel.
and believe me, i understand your doubt, i had ordered some with those patterns elsewhere and they were totally naked bone and ate my hair, so i have put some kind of a varnish on them. after three layers they have become a bit smoother luckily. |

My hairsticks that Rapunzel made are uber, uber, uber smooth! The many layers of lacquer she applies to the finish makes them as smooth as glass.
BTW, my hairsticks are of the carved bone and they are nothing but smooth all over! They feel like marble. I love 'em! strawberryfine Susan could put up hairsticks made of barbed-wire on the site and I would buy them, because I know they would be very hair safe or they wouldn't be there. Good question, though! strawberryfine ::) |

One pair of my LL hairsticks is bone, carved to twists, and their surface is totally smooth and wonderful.
I completely agree with strawberryfine here :) . |

Yep, (nods head with everyone else), the carved bone sticks are very smooth due to the layers of enamel Susan puts on the sticks. She spends an inordinate amount of time on making sure every hairstick is smooth as glass.

All I can say is that as soon as I feel I have hair worthy I'm ordering at least one set - these are the most beautiful sticks I've ever seen, really, at least to my taste as I am a color and texture hound, g

Your hair is worthy!
Mine is only 17.5" at last measurement and I can use them, even though my favorite is a scrunchie ponytail with hairsticks or stick stuck through the scrunchie. They are so pretty and so beautifully made! strawberryfine |

Getting a new pair of Susan's HairStix is one of the most positive self-caring and self-pampering thing that you can do for yourself, IMHO!
As I am currently "between situations", I can only window shop which is pleasurable in and of itself, FOR NOW, but what better incentive for getting a new job than to be able to buy goodies like LL HairStix? I will be adding to my collection! SF |
