Title: Would You Like a White Christmas?
Post by strawberryfine on Dec 21st, 2004 at 11:04pm
It's raining and sleeting here with snow predictions of up to a foot of accumulation.  :o

That would be rare here, but has happened before.

I would so love a snow!  I don't want anyone to have bad road conditions but I would love to see the white stuff floating down and piling up.

Would you like a white Christmas?  Any chance of getting it where you are?

Merry Christmas!

I always love to have a White Christmas, but it is a rare event.  I don't want one particularly this year because we hope to travel Christmas day and return Sunday.  As I get older I appreciate my father's sentiment more and more -- "I love snow as long as it's in the field!" :P

I don't think it has EVER snowed here, in the history of time! LOL  ;D

I heard that a lot, too! lol

Leia,
I thought about you when I was posting this question!  If we have one, I will try to post a picture so you can have one, too, if you want it!  I'll share mine with you.

I'm in California, no white Christmas here  :( unless I go up to the mountains which are actually only about 3 hours away.  :)

Here, Christmas is nearly always white, though it's a close call: for example, today we have snow, but two days ago it rained. So I keep my fingers crossed and hope that snow won't melt. I so love white Christmases.

Here in Minnesota we usually have some snow by Christmas.  I prefer a white Christmas - it need the snow to put me in the holiday spirit.  This year we have had only a measly 1.5 inches, but more is predicted (assuming we warm up a bit).

But for those who need to see snow for it to be Christmas, here is a picture of me in front of my house from a few years ago.  I wish we had that much snow right now!

Wow,
Bikerbraid, your house reminds me a lot of mine!
I may have to blow up a picture of your snow.  Our snow
predictions are kind of fizzling out right now.

That happens a lot here.  We are very likely to get snow predictions and not so likely to actually see snow.

I'll believe the predictions here when I see the first flake.  I'm tempted to go off on a tangent here but  I just can't pick a lane. LOL ::)

the last white xmas in belgium must date back to the seventies or even the sixties!! i so wish there'd be some snow ... that way i can skip the ultra boring family reunion at my grand mother (traffic problems). there's just that part of the family i so don't want to see.

I live in Louisiana.. no snow.  Actually, last night we had a bad storm and it got cold enough that some flakes actually made it to the ground.  It never sticks though.  We do get these horrid ice storms when everything gets cold enough to freeze though.   This morning when I got up at 6 am everything was covered in this beautiful layer of liquid crystal.... ohh wow.

If that's as close as I can get to a white Christmas I'll take it.  *smiles*

Besides, I used to live in Ohio.. snow all the time and winters so long.. oy vay!

I would like some snow, yes, but as we have to travel
I don't know if I want it to fall tommorow! (Selfish of me?)  I would like about 20-30 degrees and a soft
snowfall.  It's much colder than that here 0 with a windchill! BRRRRR but no snow.

Normally I'm not a big fan of snow, and living in Florida, I hardly ever see it. I think it's pretty, absolutely beautiful. I just don't care much for cold weather. This year though, it seems we may have a chance of getting snow around Christmas. I'm actually hoping we will see some, after Ivan I could use some beauty. After all who doesn't want a lovely holiday right? :)

Happy Happy Snow Dance! :o ::) ??? 8)

We got it.  About 6-7 inches of beautiful snow, lots of ice and temperatures that will stay from -7 to 21 through Christmas Day.

I sat up in my sun room in my grandmothers rocking chair, wrapped in blankets and pillows and just watched it snow for hours until I fell asleep.  I'm a bit of a winter person and it was heavenly for me.

My tree is up, most packages are wrapped; the ones I have left I will finish easily tonight/tomorrow.

And I have a warm cat in my lap, purring.

Merry Christmas to All,
SF :)

Good for you Strawberryfine!  I wish I had that much snow here.  However, I just went out to light the candles in the ice globe luminaries and there were snow flakes in the air!

The nice thing about our cold weather is being able to make ice luminaries.  I love how they glisten with the candles.

Hubby and I will make our trek to church for the midnight service and bring in Christmas morn singing Silent Night.

May all your hearts be filled with joy and peace!

We have snow! Just before Christmas a big storm came, and along with it, a nice thick layer of snow. Now weather is very clear, trees look like lace and everything is white and beautiful. Cold weather doesn't bother me- I actually like it.

I'm happy. And wish you very good rest of Christmas.

No snow, but it's still Christmas :D.  I heard Houston TX got a white Christmas :o.  Well, at least our travels today will be easier without snow on the roads :D
Merry Christmas All
