Title: Fancy Silver Brushes Post by Sara on Jan 13th, 2005 at 12:54am
A few years ago I recieved a vanity set made of silver. It included one of thos silver brushes (oval shaped) with the soft bristles. Much like what they show noble ladies or princesses using in movies. Anyways, I was wondering if that would be safe on my hair (since I use a wide toothed comb first to detangle my hair). I have no idea if the bristles are all natrual...somwhow I don't think they are. But they are soft..

i don't think bristles are made for detangling, it's even pretty awful to put anything "flexible" through tangled hair. natural bristles are for oil distribution and smoothing of already well detangled hair ONLY (with "well detangled" i mean not just with a wide toothed comb but also with a little comb that has many teeth so you are sure there's not a single tangle left!)

The vanity brush might be best for "polishing" your hair. It could be used after you have detangled and just want to smooth the surface hair to make it look "perfect"!

Ah thank you. Yes, I comb my hair and then us the vanity brush. Ok well before I was worried if it was a good idea or not but thanks again.
