Title: Story of Yoko Post by Lisabelle on Sep 5th, 2005 at 12:32pm
The last few days have been really wild and a bit heart breaking. My neighbor Karl and I found an abondoned cat in front of our house. She was a sweet and beautiful tabi who would cuddle and kiss anyone who picked her up. Karl fell in love with her and so did I. I named her Yoko after a character in a movie. For a week we fed her and Karl kept her in his apartment at night to keep her safe. She would sleep with him and be so quite and sweet. Saturday Karl asked the landlord if he could keep her, that evil man said "No, I'll evict you if you keep that filthy moggie!" With some help from a friend I found a rescue shelter and the lady came yesterday and picked up Yoko. I cried into Karls shoulder as Yoko was taken away, but we do know she will have a good home and not be put down. Here's a picture of the little angel. Doing the right thing hurts somtimes :'(

It is so hard to let go of pets we love. My husband worked in a shelter for almost 3 years and we both volunteered there. If it helps any, I can pretty much guarantee that a cat that pretty and with such a sweet temperment will be adopted quickly and not have to live its life in a cage.
**hugs** |

She's so beautiful. Lisabelle, I am so very sorry that you two could not keep her. :'(
It's a good thing that you will have updates about her and that she will be taken care of and loved. (((hugs))) |

Such a happy and sad story! I'm glad you and Karl had the courage to do the right thing, the hard thing. It is awesome you'll still know how she is doing. Doing that right thing lead to a wonderful person who can take care of her the way she deserves. Ahh, the universe can be a wonderful place. :)

*hugs* to you and Karl. Yoko will have a good life since you two cared enough to take her in and look out for her well-being. I'm sorry you had to let her go. Bad bad eville landlord.
Yoko looks so cute in the picture! Doesn't it look like she has a tabi-colored masquerade mask on? :) Cynde |

Update on Yoko:
I got a call from the caregiver. Yoko is being taken in to see if she has a mirco chip today. Also I sent a photo to my nieghborhood shelter and I put up pictures of her around the neighborhood. The caregiver and I am going to wait a week and then of no one claimes her, she will get shots, spayed and mirco chiped and put up for adoption. Wish us luck! |

Yoko update part 2
Well I put found notices around the nieghborhood but no one ever called. :-/ I rang the AVA lady and we had a really nice conversation. Yoko is doing really well and is getting along with her troupe of cats and dogs. Yoko was scanned for a micro chip and was found not to have one. She got her shots and next week she will be spayed. I miss her very much :'(. |

Its so nice that you're able to check in on her. This is the time to start telling co-workers, friends and family members about how wonderful she is, and how much you miss her. Maybe even carry a picture of her with you. My husband and I have a few fosters scattered around that we still get to see due to these effective conversations. Sometimes you'll find someone that was just thinking they might like a cat, and you can save them alot of hassle by already having a good tempered cat for them to visit with. |

Gabi, I want to do more then slap him! Today I was talking with the next door neigbor and the landlord over head me say "My cat is getting spayed today" He went nuts and said you have the cat upstairs!" I rounded on him and said. "Are you daft! With a rabbit and two birds?? Heres' my key, go have a look!!! That man is a jerk!
He said no no it's okay....grrrrrr. |

OMG >:( Your Landlord is really a big PITA . What a jerk! It's sad that you cannot provide for Yoko, but I am sure that she'll be in a good loving home soon.

Moonchild He's mean alright. He use to have a dog, a big St.Bernard, who bit people! My hubby included!

He must be a cruel #$#@ if his St. Bernard bit people; they're generally sweet dogs. I'm sorry you had to give Yoko up, but I'm sure someone will give her a good home. I've never understood why people will let tenants have kids but not pets. Most pets are a lot less destructive than kids are. ;) |

With karma like that, your landlord will probably end up coming back as a homeless cat. :D

13bodies, Moonchild, NR I know he's mean alright, and he looking for another dog to get... horriable man. >:(
Anyway, Yoko got spayed last tuesday and is doing great! She's up for adoption this week. I'll keep you all posted! I miss her, hubby was working on the car when Yoko was still here and she left here cute little paw prints on the hood. There still there, even after a spray wash *sigh* :'( |

(((((Lisabelle))))) I know you'll miss her, but at least you got her away from Evil Scum-Sucking Pig Dog Landlord. He strikes me as the type who'd sic his dogs on homeless cats for fun. >:(
And.....I cast the Curse of the Crazy Cat Lady on him. He will pay; oh, he will indeed. |

Oh you bet he's going to pay! His karma is so bad, I don't have to do a thing and he will get his! ;) http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a90/Lisabunnie/kittyfeet.jpg Yoko's foot prints on my car |
