Title: A Re-Introduction Post by maggie on Sep 22nd, 2005 at 1:34pm
Ok, so I'm not exactly new, but I have been gone from the boards for several months...so I feel that a re-intro might be in order! In my last posts my biggest hair deliberation was whether on not to have some bangs cut in... well folks, bangs it is, and I love them! I went to a good hairdresser and had her razor-cut in some 'sweeping' bangs, it is very complimentary to my face...and my high forehead...and it actually made me enjoy my hair again. It's neat doing all the styles i used to do, but now having bangs. So no regrets there. My hair had finally reached the longest point it had ever been in my life about a month ago, I didn't measure it, but it was a few inches beneath my bra strap, but from letting it grow w/o trimming it, I realized I had some serious split-end issues and my ends were breaking and snapping off. So I took the plunge, hauled my cookies back to the hairdresser, closed my eyes, and told her to take about 4 inches off. Ouch! I miss the length, but I love how healthy it is now, and now I can grow it back with regular trims and KEEP it healthy. I still love using hairsticks, but have not learned any new tricks with them since not visiting the boards, or ANY new hairstyles for that matter. Aye-yi-yi! I had better get my priorities straight! ;) Well, that's about the long & short of it, I look forward to meeting all the new people that have joined since I've been "missing"! Ciao!

Welcome back! :D
Glad to hear you are happy with your hair, even if that did mean trimming a bit off. Fresh ends can make the growing out go better, especially when there is damage on the ends. |

Yes, sometimes it just needs to be done, even if it is a little bit heartbreaking! I keep running my hand down my ponytale and looking for the other 4 inches!

Well not only do i have a high forehead, but a high hairline as well- when i would pull my hair back i felt like i had 'bald temples' and was very self-conscious. Now that i have bangs i feel so much more comfortable wearing my hair up or back. I also like that they are not just the typical straight-across kind of bangs, but more fringey and sweepy like a lot of models are wearing now. Sometimes i will wear them all swept to one side, or i can wear them split or just straight down (the chrissy heinz look!), but i've had them for a few months now and haven't gotten tired of them yet...but that can change....easily. i am a woman, you know!

Ok. In this here thread we got two oxymorons: a(n) (re-)introduction from Maggie who's already got 3 stars ;D ;D and Maroula's statement that she is a newbie when she's already hit diamond!
Yeahhhh ;D ;D Welcome back Maggie! |

Welcome back, Maggie! Glad your bangs are working for you. :) I seem to have the opposite problem with them; I have a low forehead so bangs look silly on me.
