I've been a little busy latly due to RITA's visit and have not been able to participate much in this forum. We live in Lake Charles, LA. Here's a couple of photos of our house.

As you may notice from some of my earlier posts, our neighborhood is (was) very wooded. Now half the trees are down, many on roofs of homes. Lots of trees broken off about half way up, leaving naked stalks sticking up.It looks like a war zone. We are lucky - we are all OK.

DSW, I'm really glad you are all OK. It was hard for me to understand what I was seeing at first, that tree lying on your roof. I hope you all have a comfy place to live while the repairs are being done. I hope life returns to normal quickly.

How awful! Such beautiful trees - all lost..... and the destruction to your house! Thankfully you were not hurt in the storm. I imagine it will be some time before all the repairs and clean up is completed. Good luck to you and your neighbors.

Egad.

My heart really goes out to all the folks affected by those recent storms. The devistation just floors me.

Thank goodness that you and your family are alright. I sincerely hope that you may have every comfort restored in due time.
