Title: Paint? Post by Bardic Love on Oct 16th, 2005 at 12:48am
So, I recently painted a room in our house(it turned out very nice by the way) and even though I tried to be careful, I got a little paint in my hair. It's not too noticable, but I can feel it. I thought it might come out with a couple of showers and shampoo but it hasn't yet. Does anyone know a way to gently remove the paint from my hair without doing any more damage?

Assuming the paint has been on your hair for several days at this point, I'm afraid you don't have a lot of options. The paint has cured and has probably entered the cuticle of the hair.
The only suggestion I can think of would be to saturate the affected hair with oil to see if that might dissolve or loosen the paint. Glad to hear the rooms turned out well! |

I "painted" my hair many of times ;D
I did what BB suggested: put some oil on the painted strands and kinda tried to pull it off the hair. It worked with some paints, others I had to just live with it until the next trim (or longer) Hubby tried helping with a real fine-toothed comb before as well. Good luck and I hope that others have better suggestions :-/ |

I know I am sort of late on this, but I once had a lot of paint in my hair. Our high school senior class always painted a sign on a night before graduation. As you can imagine, we wore more of the paint than got on the sign. I soaked my hair with tons of conditioner and sort of slid the paint off my hair. I was in the shower a long time, but all the paint came out. It was in my hair for over 12 hours.
