;D  I always thought 25 was a better stopping point - you don't want to be "just" legal.  25 gives you a couple of years to be a responsible adult out of college.  

25? I was 36 for several years  ;D Don't know why, but I just kept on saying that I am 36 years young. Then one day it occured to me that this is NOT the case anymore  ::)
Now I am at 39 years and a few month........just better don't ask how many month  ;D

I honestly don't remember my 21st birthday..... but it's not because of what you think!

When I turned 18, I lived in MN which had 21 as it's drinking age.  I then went to college in WI which had a split drinking age - 18 for beer, 21 for everything else.  So I was already "legal" in WI when I arrived.  While in college, MN dropped it's drinking age to 18, and WI dropped its full drinking age to 18 as well.  So I never got to experience that "becoming legal drinking age" in either of the 2 states I would have celebrated in.  Of course, then both states bumped the legal age up to 21, but I was already over 21 when that happened.  

So to make this long story longer, my 21st birthday was uneventful, other than I was hurridly preparing to graduate from college and get married a month later.  ;D

My golden birthday is 25 =D
I can't wait for my trip to Chicago during Thanksgiving Break.  I get to go into some of the bars and such.

Missouri always had 21 as legal drinking age but Illinios had 19 for a while. There was always a risk going over there between 19 and 21 because the Mo. Highway Patrol would wait on US 50 on our side of the bridge looking for teenagers bringing loot accros the river or having a bit much to drink on the east side.

Normally, once you reached hwy 67 in Missouri, you were pretty safe. It was best to have someone's old man's sedan and not one of our less discreet roaring machines when visiting the east side for drink and foos-ball. I lived four miles in off Hwy 50/67 not too far from old route 66.

I think I started the night of 21 at TGI Friday's.  ;) My son will be 21 next April. He and his buddies plan a night at the casino on the river.

I remember my 21 b day.....my hubby took me out to dinner and I had to stand on chair while the whole place belted out happy b day....then to top it off he ate half of my b day dessert...cherry and all!!!!
