Title: "Deanna" Goes to Print! Post by panpeus on Nov 17th, 2005 at 10:22pm
"Deanna" My 58-page design book is going to the bindery tomorrow! I'm going to get two books completed and hard-cover bound. Hooray! I'll take photos of the best spreads.
I'm worried though, now that it's at print, I keep thinking "did I do the pagination right?" "Did I put the right numbers on the table of contents?" "Are there any typos?" But still, it's done. And it looks really sweet. So now that my 80-hour project is out of the way -- I get to celebrate! Send me some good vibes! If I have a typo I'll be so angry. |

Oh man, it is so expensive to just get something bound. Thankfully I get 50% off the binding. But the pages I printed out are on a great paper, which pwned my budget. :p The champagne was a necessary expense! http://img488.imageshack.us/my.php?image=megcelebrate9bv.jpg |

Thanks so much!!!
I found one typo in it, but I don't think anyone will find it :p Still, it's the copy for my sister, Deanna. The real one is going to be printed at a better place after winter break :) Thanks for the vibes! here are some spreads: http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/3674/spread12xt.jpg http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/6034/spread22sv.jpg http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/9670/spread37yx.jpg http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/7449/spread42fr.jpg http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/6987/colophon6xj.jpg Edit: The PDF had to be compressed, so it's not totally clear. I also had to shrink the size so imageshack would let me host them. But still, the image is clear. It's a bit more modern then what I am used to doing, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out. :) |

Wow how cool!! I love the watercolors (is that real watercolors or Photoshop?) I haven't had a chance to read it yet because my glasses are not handy, but I will soon!

The book looks fantastic. I LOVE the artwork. My SIL does lots of watercolors (and I have them hanging all over my house) - it is my favorite medium.
Congrats. |

It looks F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C, Panpeus! I read the exerpts, and now I want to read the whole story! Do you plan on releasing this to the public? I love the artwork, too. It adds a very modern & feminine feel to the book. Awesome job ::APPLAUSE:: !!!

Aww, thanks everyone!! I think I'm going to do some revising over christmas break, but after that I might see what venues are open for it. The story is taken from my sister's journals, so it is not "well-written" but it has the sporatic and chaotic feeling.
Thank you so much, everyone :) |

I can't read anything :'( :'(, but it looks great, and art is done with such a feminine touch, it's beautiful... :)
Great Job! |

It's both water color and photoshop manipulation. I tweak the colors in photoshop and erase/add to the paintings. The layers of information and artwork make the piece dynamic and more interesting. And dont worry about reading it ;) it is various pages from the book, so it won't make much sense. |
