Title: Bare Minerals Post by Sara on Apr 5th, 2006 at 2:15am
Have any of you tried Bare Minerals makeup? It's an all-mineral make up(no chemicals i the foundtions, bluhses, eyeshadows-I don't use that-, and all over face colors). It really does work, and make smy skin look like it was touched up with PhotoShop -__-. I didn't even feel like I had make up on and you can't tell.I also feel better about wearing it because it's alarge reduction in the risk of skin cancer (lak of carcinogenic chemicals). The minerals naturally provide SPF 15. You gusy should also try mineral veil (even thougth that particular one is not 100 percent minerlas, its a heck of alot more natural then othe rmake ups). You also have to buy the brushes so, its best to go to Sephora's and buy the package or order online (it comes with everythign so you save).
http://www.bareminerals.com/kits_bm4.html That's the package I purchased. It was 60 in Sephora's. I also wnat to try this http://www.aromaleigh.com/minfacfounpo.html It seems to be as good or better. I cetianly think that if you're going to put anything, on any par tof you...make it as natural as possible. If you can't afford it, try to put less of your money into othe rthings. I constantly tell people," what good are Jordans going to do for you when you're sick in the hospital and taking pills for the rets fo you're life. Even teh pills are dangerous and that will be more expenisve than anything now (like natural food or make-up ect.)" |

I don't wear makeup myself, but I have heard others speak highly of Bare Minerals. Glad it works for you!

I don't wear makeup on a daily basis, only when going out somewhere special, like for dinner or just a night "out"...then I have to look good! ;)
Bare Minerals always catches my eye when I see it on TV, and I always wondered if it really works as good as they say it does, seems like it does. I'm always tempted to try this, maybe someday I'll treat myself, I believe in being as natural as possible, too. |

Bare Minerals is all I wear. I think you'll really like it. I wear Fair or light(depending on the time of year),I use Mineral Veil, tons of different blushes, eyeshadows and the kabuki brush is a must to apply the foundation with. I usually just wear the foundation, mineral veil, blush and mascara. I do use Lancome's juicy gloss though. I have "peaches and cream" complexion (thanks to the Irish and Italian decent) and Bare Minerals is the ONLY foundation I've found that works. I've tried everything through the years and was even a Mary Kay beauty consultant!! You'll love this line! :)

I never heard of it but it does sound wonderful. Natural makeup? I wonder if you HAVE to wash it off? ::)

It's always good to wash your face 2x a day to get rid of impurities, dirt, oil, etc. But with Bare Minerals;if you forget or are too tired to wash your face,it's ok to sleep in it.. It is so pure that there is no pore clogging, that's the beauty of Bare Minerals. I have slept in it a few times prior to getting my satin pillowcases, but not now. I wash with Philosphy's Purity Made Simple and moisturize with Hope In A Jar. I use their lip and eye cream also. 1x or 2x a week I use Susan Lucci's Microdermabrasion kit.

Lol, it's not exactly make up in the sense like eyeshadow and liptick. Its just a powder and as the others have said, it really shouldn't be considered makeup since it's just minerals. But yea you shoudl give mineral make-ups a try :)

I use Aromaleigh and I love it! :-* Since I've been using it, the redness of my skin has decreased, I don't get as many zits, and the ones I do get heal much more quickly. I have very oily skin and the mineral foundation doesn't "float" on the oil and rub off on everything, nor does it turn orange or weird colors.
If you're used to standard foundations, you need to use the MMU (mineral makeup) for a couple of weeks to get used to it--it looks as though you aren't wearing makeup at all! In the beginning I felt as though my face was naked because it didn't look like a mask. (I noticed that I had a patch of freckles on my jaw that I'd never noticed before ::)) I've converted my mom and a friend of mine to the MMU. My friend ran out of samples and used her old, pore-clogging makeup and broke out the next day. Best. Makeup. Ever. ;D |

Oh thats great you guys! Just remember that with mineral powders, you need a good moisturizer as a base. A facial lotion will do fine. I also reccommend the mineral bisque for extra concealing. If you have any problems or questions about the make up or application ask me.

I'd like to add that the Skin Rever Upper is also a great vitamin lotion to use before you apply the Bare Minerals. The only mistake people usually make with it is that they use too much of the foundation. Alittle goes along way! Also the Mineral Veil is a nice powder over the foundation. I use it before I put on alittle of the blush. I like Hint or even True or Glee is nice. Check them all out, there are so many different colors to choose from and Leslie (creator and owner)is always adding new ones!

I've gotten my samples of Aromaleigh products and so far so good. I bought quite a few so it will take me awhile to get throught them and order full size. I'm sampling foundation, blush, eyeshadow, lipstick and lipgloss.
I'm greatful they have so many color choices-looks like I'm neutral Ivory. I like the lipstick and lip gloss. I'm struggling to find a daily eyeshadow, but I'm always in that situation. 13bodies, which of their products are your favorites? Which type of foundation are you using? |

The lip glosses are very good and the eyeshadows, too. I like Fran Wilson lipcreams though. You can go on to IQVC.com to see what's there.

I like Bare Minerals a lot, I especially like how natural it looks and feels. I apply it whenever I wash my face, I even sleep in it. I always use the Mineral Veil or foundation and sometimes I'll do blush. However, I did find their infomercial quite amusing. When I first saw it on tv, they showed a pic of the "yucky and messy" liquid foundation. There was liquid foundation running down the bottle and smeared all over the counter it was sitting on. I use to use liquids and thought, my makeup has never looked like that.
My Bare Minerals however makes a huge mess. I love it but the loose powder gets everywhere! I have dark skin so when the powder gets on my sink and counter it looks like dirt . I wonder why they never showed that on their infomercial. ;) Next, I'm going to try a mineral make up that comes in a compact instead of a loose powder. Hopefully, I'll get the same results but with less mess. |

Let us know how you make out. I use Bare Minerals and I put a little in the cap, swirl, tap and buff (like Leslie says ::) ;D and no mess. Have you tried it that way, yet?
|
Title: Re: Bare Minerals Post by La_Diosa on Sep 20th, 2006 at 9:56pm
I'm sure I did when I first purchased it. :) Shortly thereafter, I'd resorted to just dipping the brush in the container. No swirl, no tap.
It was such a long time ago that I bought it, I don't remember if the pouring prevented the mess or not. I'll try it again "the correct way" and see if that solves my problem. Thanks for the suggestion Curlgirl ;) |
