Title: "NEW" hair product! Post by bikerbraid on Jun 14th, 2006 at 2:29pm
I typically wash my hair just once a week - more often when biking. Due to rain and other issues, I have not biked to work, and hence, have not washed my hair yet this week.
Last evening, hubby and I started prepping the deck for being re-sealed. This involved using a sander on the railings etc. It was slightly breezy, so I didn't think much about the dust since it just blew away. This morning I rode in to work - a gorgeous morning to ride. My hair was only slightly damp from the ride, but yech! My hair was all, thick and gooey. I went in to the restroom to see how bad it looked and realized I has sawdust in my hair! The sawdust was absorbing the moisture in my hair making a gooey mess. :P Fortunately I do have a brush at work (I seldom use a brush :o) so I carefully combed then brushed out my hair. It still feels yucky, but it looks fine in a french braid. I imagine this is how those dry shampoos work! ;D |

Oh! That sounds horrible! Luckily you had that brush. I ALWAYS have a wooden comb with me (from the Body Shop) for emergencies.
I'm glad it looked fine for work in the braid. I don't know about you, but if I feel like my hair's looking less than acceptable it really distracts me all day! |

Sakina; I agree - I hate to have my hair not looking good. (I don't want to give anyone an excuse to say something bad about my long hair!). A bun will usually save me from the worst hair days, so today I feel lucky that the french braid looks good.
On the other hand, I'm sitting in my cubicle with only 4 others in the office. None of us are dressed in our best. :-X No customers in the office today! Yea! So even if my hair didn't look its best, it would not have been the end of the world. (Hey - they are used to me biking to work, so this would be no big deal). |

I bet I know someone who can't wait to wash her hair!!
Glad at least you could comb through it as best you can at work! |

Had a great ride home - it was not as hot as they had predicted so it was quite comfortable. I have taken my shower and washed my hair. Although it is still wet/damp, it already feels better! ;D

My hubby puts in hardwood floors for a living and whenever he does sanding he comes home covered in yucky saw dust. His head is sticky and gross (his shaves his head btw) Awe that must feel horriable!:P

In some parts of China, they do use fine sawdust as dry shampoo...

I'm not totally surprised. The sawdust did absorb the oils quite well. I just didn't like how it felt when I touched my hair. Blech! |
