Title: It's a Girl!
Post by Curlygirl22 on Jun 27th, 2006 at 3:43am
Dear Friends,

Thank God for a healthy baby girl!!!!!  She was born June 25 at 7:14am. She is 20.5 inches long. What a blessing! We named  her Julia. She is crying right now and i am in the hospital. I am on bed rest because i have a clot in my varicose veins. Hopefully nothing too serious but im  still in the hospital. Today was a rough day, because they were doing tests on my legs and i found out i might have to stay in the hospital a bit longer. The delivery was painful, but THANKGOD Its over. Thanks for everyones well wishes and i really need your prayers so my legs can get better. Thanks  in advance. I have to wear the supprt hose and take 2 shots daily in the tummy or in the arm(ahhhhhhhhh more pain, :o........  they are blood thinners)  Hopefully everything will be ok. I have just a little baby blues i guess.  :-/  I can just imagine growing our hair together and how much fun that will be.......hopefully. I vow to teach her everything about hair and how to grow it.

:-*Love,

CurlyGirl

P.S. please pray for us!

Congratulations!  I'm glad the delivery went well and you didn't have to be induced.

I had blood clots after one of my miscarriages.  Very painful and scarey.  Take it easy and do what they tell you to do (or not do!).

Whoo hoo!  We are all cyber aunties of a darling baby girl!   ;D  Julia is a beautiful name for what I am sure is a beautiful baby.

Take it easy and enjoy your precious baby.

I remember those shots - NO FUN!  But, they will ensure that you don't have something worse happen to you, so you will endure.  Having little Julia by your side will help.  :D

Glad you are home.  We will all send you healing thoughts.

Dear Cyber Aunties, (hehe)

During the big life changing moments, i forgot to mention how i went into labor, when i went to the hospital and about the delivery. Well i have been having irregular contractions that on Saturday very lightly and thought that was false labor. I think i said in my journal that i was going to eat that labor inducing meal the Eggplant Parmisean that i  researched online for naturally inducing overdue pregnancies.  I ate that at our fave Olive Garden.  That helped i felt regular contractions about an hour after that. How ironic. i was a little hestitant to try it but it worked in my case at 40 weeks and 6 days. then we went for a walk for about an hour. that helped keep the contractions very regular. Then, it was getting closer and closer together, first every 15 min, then 10, then 5, then 3min. :o :o :o We got to the hospital and i was  dialated 4cm. Wow! I asked for the epidural right away and thankgod i got it!  then i went quickly to 8cm then 10.  BTW, i got to the hospital at 2:30am and delivered at 7:14am on early Sunday morning.    I had an episimoty(forgot how to spell it), but that still hurts. Guess thats it though.

Keep you posted

I'm so glad that your labor was reasonably quick and you got the epidural right away.  It sounds like Julia knew when she wanted to be born!

Congratulations. Congratulations. Congratulations.

Julia is on my birth certificate too, so good choice! I'm sure she is beautiful. Well done.

Brave you, waiting for as long as possible to go into the hospital. I've got three children and panicked with the first two so spent more time than I needed to in the hospital. My third baby was induced at 42+ weeks on the Wednesday and he didn't arrive for another two days. Fortunately I wasn't in labour all that time, I started at 6pm on the Thursday evening and he was born at 12.33pm on the Friday. There is nothing to compare with giving birth to a baby, it's painful yes, but what a reward. Enjoy your lovely baby girl, she will be a joy to you and your family forever.

I hope your leg gets better very soon, you'll be in my prayers tonight.

THANKYOU CYBER AUNTIES!!!!  :-*  :-* :-*

Yesterday my husband got the mail and he said there was a package for me. Lo and Behold, it was from Longlocks. You ladies are soooooooo sweet and thankyou very very much. That meant so much to me.

Auntie Robin,  The booties are so cute. They sure do fit. She has very tiny feet. Thankyou :-*. Your card was nice to read and made me smile.

Auntie Trisha,  Thankyou for your card and Gift card. That was so sweet of you.  We definately will need it. :-*

Auntie Cynde,  The onesie was very adorable. Julia will need it.  :-*

Since you ladies are the wonderful cyber aunties.  I will notify you when little princess Julia does special things and keep you posted about her hair.

Jules, Julia is such a pretty name and you have divine hair.  Thanks for your prayers. :)

Preciouslocks and British Brunette, thanks for your well wishes. :)

This really lifted my spirits up because the other night when when friends came over to see Julia, DH decided to blurt out how disgusting it was when my waterbroke when i was in labor and how it almost got on the nurses. I was so mortified and could not believe he said that.  :P I should put this memory in my embarressing moments book. hehe just kidding.

I hope she has long hair soon too. What colour is her hair? My first dughter was bald until she was 2 years old then when it grew it was beautifully thick and curly. She's 23 now and her hair is long too, nearly down to her waist. My second daughter who is 21  put so many different colours in her hair over the last couple of years and had to have it cut short as the condition of her hair was so bad, now she is desperate to grow it long again. They are both red heads. I used to love brushing their hair and puting it up for them when they were little, you're gonna have loads of fun.

Thanks again Cyber Aunties :-*,

You longlockers are so wonderful to us!  The  pink booties you knitted for Julia are adorable! Thanks BB. :) Just thinking that you took the time to knit these little booties for Julia that means so much to me! We are so lucky to have Cyber friends/aunts hehe.  ;)

Galadriel :), the socks that you got for me and Julia are so very special. I will remember you when we wear them because they are from Finland and how wonderful is that! We love to travel so getting things from around the world is magnificent.

Juri :), The card you got us made me feel so much better. I feel so loved and 5 minutes ago i was just crying( i was feeling overwhelmed :P).

Julia is having a nap now. She will be 3 weeks old on tomarrow(Sunday). I gave her a bath, I spray the herbal spray on her little "duck fuzz" I didnt put the ribbons around her head because when i did it left a line so i dont want it to hurt her. I think her head is too big for them. She has a teensy diaper rash. I think its from the heat. Yesterday at night we took our first walk around the block in her new pink stroller!  I wish for her to have gorgeous hair for life to make her life easier and give her confidence.

Love always Jackie aka Curlygirl and Julia aka Little duck

Wishing4Longhair and Khrome I got  the term'Duck Fuzz' from BB.  BB used it one time and it grew on me because Julias little baby hairs do look like duck fuzz.hehe
LOL.

Wishing4longhair :) I wish my hair was thicker. It appears to be that way because of the curls. Thankyou!

Hehehe Khrome :) you are funny about duck fuzz because in your vocabulary!  I love ppl with a sense of humor.

"Duck fuzz" was my baby nickname.  My father called me that for many years (and reverted to it a couple of times when under the influence of major pain killers after surgery  ;D)  I was a white-haired blonde as a baby - but the hair was sooooo fine it would not lay down - it just fuzzed out everywhere - just like duck down.
