Title: To be new again.
Post by AtlantisAllure on Jul 18th, 2006 at 4:28pm
Hello Everyone, Though I am not actually NEW...Its been so long since my last post, I thought I'd stop over here, before just posting comments and what not!

Not much has changed with my hair, its still black...Or sort of black, with lots of brown outgrowth. My hair has not been growing much for a while, length wise its stayed about 34 inches, but whats funny is, my outgrowth is getting longer and longer. Breakage is my enemy.

I stopped visiting the boards, due to the fact it was making me horribly depressed with my hair. It was never nice enough, long enough or something. I'm an odd duck! Its good to be back though. I have since started using shampoo and conditioner like a regular person again, which makes shopping for such things MUCH easier. I still clarify and oil my hair up though.

I have on many occasions made appointments to have my hair dyed, and everytime I've cancelled them. The last time I did it, I was pretty serious about doing it. So I stopped into a Regis salon and the lady was giving my hair the once over, seeing what could be done about the color. She then calls over another woman and while talking about my hair...Calls it "unreasonably long", I then proceeded to leave.

I think thats about all hairwise, no dyes, no cuts, no trims.

Hello again, AtlantisAllure.  ;)

Nice to see you back. Sorry about your last salon experience. "Unreasonably long" my foot! The only reason it's "unreasonable" to them is because they're at a loss for how cut cut, colour, highlight, style, blowfry, sculpt and spray it into "perfection." Balderdash!

Any professional stylist had better be willing to work with you if they want to make any $$. Even if they only saw you every once in awhile, it would be better than permanently driving away a sale, eh? Morons! You're better off without them.

Sorry to hear about your "hair depression," as well. I think everyone kinda goes through that in some way. But 34" is a big accomplishment. Some people's hair can't grow that long...most people won't let their hair grow that long. You're more of a "rare bird" than an "odd duck" I'd say.  ;)

Anywho, I don't mean to ramble. Just wanted to say welcome back & do to your hair whatever you want!  ;D

Welcome Back!

I'm sorry your hair has not brought you the joy you wish for.  Hang in there (and hang around here) and things will get better.

Atlantis Allure, two words: Stop comparing!
Everyone's hair is unique and even the hair you would admire the most, has some "flaws" if you were to ask the owner. I mean nobody's perfect and nobody's hair is perfect. Just go on taking good care of your hair and it will pay back. In fact I am sure your hair is already lovely. You're just a "click" away of realising it!

Unreasonably long, my...oh wait, I can't say that word.  Um, BAH, I say to them!  I agree with the others, especially about not comparing yourself.
