Title: Stiff hair
Post by acting2live on Jul 30th, 2006 at 10:59pm
For some reason the of my hair on the very crown of my head feels ...gunky. I don't use anything on my hair other than the same shampoo and conditioner I have used for a long time. I even tried scrubing hard with another shampoo and no conditioner, it still feels very stiff and like it has build up. I did a level two color about 3 weeks ago and all of a sudden about 4 days ago this. How can I make my hair nice and soft again?

Hmm....without knowing more about your hair care routine, I'd have to suggest clarifying in some way. Like a clarifying shampoo, vinegar rinse or both.

Conditioning is essential, but apply it only to the length - not to the crown. Condition from about the ears down, concentrating on the ends.

I had a similar problem with Pantene's Daily Moisture Renewal products. They changed them a few months ago and they gave my hair that terribly greasy, "stiff" feeling you described.

After clarifying, that usually goes away, but sometimes it can take a few washes to get all of the "gunk" out.

Hope you find something else that works.

Definately sounds like you need to change your shampoo and conditioner so your hair and scalp can have a change of the regular routine.  An apple cider vinegar rinse is a good thing to do to help the ph level return.  Don't scub your scalp though,it could get irritated and then you have another problem to deal with on top of that:(  See if the changing of products helps and be kind to your crown and hair:)
