Hi everyone. I'm new to this site...and to growing out my hair. My hair currently is a short bob, about eight inches all around. Yikes, short, right?
It's a medium brunette with slight waves. I had really long hair when I was little and medium length in high school. In college I cut it off, and got so many compliments on short cuts that I kept doing it. Now that I've been out of college for a while, and thinking for myself...:) -I'm wanting to grow my hair out again but can't seem to keep up the motivation not to cut it. I really want long hair, but it feels like it will be this length forever-since it has been for the last few years.

Welcome to longlocks!

Ahh yes, patience is a requirement to get the long hair you want. It is a process that includes tantrums (frequency is up to you), bad hair days and akward growing out phases. Once you realize this is a part of growing it long, you can always say F-it, I AM growing my hair long. Then have some ice cream or go jogging or watch your favorite movie and you'll forget about it. All these phases pass and at some point you'll have the long and lovely locks you desire and deserve.

Feel free to start a journal to track your trials and triumphs-you'll get lots of good advice and needed support here.

Welcome! You've come to the right place to get support and help in growing out your hair.

As someone who has grown her hair out from pixie cuts more than once, I know the frustrations you will experience. But hang in there - you can have hair the length you want (or even longer!! :o )

Greetings and welcome, roomtogrow (great name, btw!).

Congrats on entering the realm of independent thought. ;D And don't worry - my hair was 6 inches everywhere when I first started growing my hair out again. I vowed to give it the best care possible from then on out.

I understand if the idea of having long hair again seems a bit daunting, given your current length. But many of us here have started with short hair - you have to start somewhere!
