Title: 9/11 Rememberances
Post by bikerbraid on Sep 11th, 2006 at 2:42pm
Today is the 5th anniversary of the terrorist attacts on the US.  It is a difficult memory for many.  I offer my well wishes to all that were affected in any way, either with the loss of loved ones or the disruption of lives due to the deplyment to areas of conflict.

I can't believe that 5 years have passed already, and I am so thankful that my life was not personally affected, nor anyone that I know or love.  I can still remember every detail of that day however, I can remember that it was my day off and I hadn't bothered to turn the tv on until 11:00 that morning, this was 2 hours after the attacks had already happened.  I remember being really confused and not understanding what I was seeing and what was consuming nearly every single channel.  I immediately got on the phone to my boss to ask if she knew what was going on, she was in tears and she explained to me what happened.  I then ran upstairs to wake my husband to tell him what was going on, he was groggy and it took a while until it sunk in, we were both terrified and watched in horror as we saw people with signs and pictures of loved ones they were looking for.  We cried right along with them, it was aweful.  Once the airways were cleared for flying again, I froze with terror and panicked every time I heard a plane overhead, I consequently still have nightmares about being attacked by enemy planes.

I can't imagine those that were directly affected, I think about and pray very hard for them.  Sorry to ramble, I just have such vivid memories of that day, I'm sure I'm not the only one.
