Title: Hi Everyone! Post by Luthien on Sep 19th, 2006 at 8:25pm
Hi all!
I'm so glad to be here! I'll start off with telling you about my hair. It is about thigh length and is exactly 42" long. It's dark brown/black (however the bottom 10-12 inches are a different color due to past coloring jobs :(). I'm trying to slowly rid myself of this with micro trims. My hair is pretty much straight with a slight wave to it. I live in Oregon and am 22 years old. I guess that's enough for now! I look forward to meeting you all! ~Anu P.S. I also joined LHC under the name of Lady Luthien |

Welcome!
Wow - thigh length hair! Congratulations on your achieving this exceptional length! Good luck with your goal of eliminating the colored hair - with time I'm sure you will achieve it! |

Welcome to the boards! I'd really love to see a picture of your hair!!
Do you do anything special with your routine at this length?? |

Greetings & welcome, Luthien.
Your hair sounds perfectly beautiful! God, what I wouldn't give for loooong, dark hair! Oregon is a lovely state...so many trees, mountains, RAIN!!! ;D Love it. I'm a CA native, but consider WA my home turf. Best of luck & happy growing. :) |

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome! :)
I don't have a special hair routine. I keep my hair up most of the time, usually in a bun. I braid it before going to bed. I rarely blow dry my hair, when I do it's always on a low heat. The shampoo that works best with my hair is Abba. I believe it doesn't have any sulfates or 'cones in it. Hi Angel Spun. Oregon is very beautiful. The leaves are starting to change color, it's so pretty. Also, it's raining today! ;D The latest picture I have of my hair was taken at a Renaissance Faire. It doesn't show all of my hair though. The two-tone is really prominent in this picture. Here it is: |

Welcome!
That pic is gorgeous!!:o The two tone hair makes the style even more interesting and the flowers top it off very nicely! |

Wow, what a gorgeous hairdo! The Ren Fair comes to Texas in a week, maybe I should splurge...

I love the braids! The two toned hair looks neat with that style. Our Ren Fest is going on now - weekends until the end of the month. Unfortunately my weekends are booked so I won't be able to go to ours this year. :-/ I love to go just to have my hair braided.
Thanks for sharing the picture. (and I love your avatar too!) |

Thank you! The hair turned out a little different than I had initially thought. I had chosen the crown braid, I didn't realize that my braid would wrap around a few times. :)
I also like your avatar (the new one too), bikerbraid. You're hair is so pretty! Nice curls, Curlgirl64! |

What an absolutely gorgeous hairstyle!! I love it!
Wish to God I had enough hair to do something like that - that's awesome! :D You have really beautiful hair, Luthien! hehe And enjoy those pretty colourful leaves. Most of the trees here are annuals like palms and eucalyptus, so we don't see so much of the lovely fall colours. In CA, there are only 2 seasons: summer and not. :P |

Wow, Luthien! What beautiful hair you have. And the braiding is a real work of art!

Thank you Angel Spun & Silvermayne!
I lived in Southern CA for a while as a kid. I know exactly what you mean Angel Spun! ;) Fall is my favorite season. I love all the different colors. :) |

Before I head off to the Ren Faire, can anyone tell me approximately how much braiding will set me back? My ticket is $20 so how much is hair braiding? It looks so nice.

Hi oldkathy!
It cost me $35 to get my hair braided, no matter what the style. :) |

Most of the braiders I've seen at fairs/festivals have set prices. They may charge more for extra long hair, which I've always seen defined as "touching the chair when you are sitting down". I've paid between $25 and $35 for my hair to be braided.
