Title: I'm Looking For A Healthy Cake Recipie Post by La Diosa on Oct 8th, 2006 at 1:23am
I LOVE cake!!!! I really do. I usually have a piece (or two) a day several times a week. I know this is not good for me which is why I actually stopped making them myself, because I can eat the whole thing in about 2 days but lately, I've been getting them from the grocery store **CORRECTION** My husband (also known as my cake dealer) has been getting them from the grocery store and I can't help but eat it!!!
What I'd like to know, is if anyone has any recipies that use artificial sweeteners, wheat flour and things like that, but that are also tasty. I'd so really apreciate it. :) |

Whenever I bake (and it's often and usually vegan) I use steevia as a sweetner if I need to. It is expensive but well worth it. It is safe for diabetics(in case you are baking for someone that has it),calorie free, carbo free, all natural from the steevia plant and twice as sweet as sugar so use less! Some of the recipes I've tried with good results came from two book called How It All Vegan and the Garden of Vegan.

Ditto!! I LOVE cake, too!!! Safeway grocery stores out here (Arizona) sell single slices of cake. Its actually a pretty big square and you can get white or chocolate cake.
Check out Moosewood cookbooks-they have awesome desserts. Moosewood Restaurant Cooks at Home has a cake you might like. Good Luck!!! |

Thanks for responding Sakina and Curlgirl64, I'll definitely look into your suggestions.
The stores here sell slices as well and usually thats what I ask my husband to bring home from the store, but he mostly ignores me and comes home with a large cake. :( |
