I'm doing some telecomuting late tonight, and have been periodically checking the boards.  Do you ever check where it says who is on line?  tonight, at one point, I was the only registered user on line and there were 34 GUESTS  :o on line!!  I suddently felt very self-conscious about all the responses and comments that I have made, that all these strangers were reading.

What is the highest number of visitors that were online when you were on line?

While writing this message the number of guests jumped to 97!   :o :o

When I visit here, there aren't usually too many people online- must be the time difference.

But yes, I sometimes feel self conscious. Even at around 100 lurkers we're still a small board though, so I try not to worry too much. I hope that the interest means that some people will register soon and join the real fun.  :)

I see the numbers go up and down all day (and night).  Last night was really unusual.  I too hope that some decide to join in.  But I also like the "homey" feel, so I hope things don't get TOO busy.  I'd hate to see thousands of posts every day.  ::)

Holy Cow!  97?!  I think I've seen in the low 20's.  All guests.  I've been on when maybe one or two members have been on line with me,was am still am hoping for a few more! ;D

Yep - I wouldn't mind having more members online with me - LOTS more members.  It is just so strange to have so many strangers on with me at once.  

I wonder what was going on that so many people were logged in at once?  I have visions that someone makes a reference to something here on the boards and then everyone runs over here to check it out, then eventually returns to where ever they came from.  Just wish they'd leave a note.  8-)

Usually I am either alone in here or a couple of registered users or guests, online. Very lonely!

aahhh, Greek Lady - I'm sorry you don't have more company when you visit us.  I know you are on line sometimes when I'm on, but off the top of my head I don't remember what time of day that is for me (since I tend to pop in just about any time of the day!).  Your reply here was at 5:30 am my time (Central time).  

Maybe you need to go out and find a bunch of long hair buddies to join in here so you don't feel so alone!   ;D

Greek Lady, I think our time zones are close, but I don't think I've seen you. I usually come in here rather early- often before noon or during early afternoon. The LL salon clock shows midnight or very early morning.

I'd love to see especially more international posters. I love to get to know people from different places and cultures.

Right now (10:52 am CST) I am the only member online, but there are 23 guests.  So a big "Hi There!" to all of you.  I don't really feel self-conscious, but I do wish we had more activity.  Guess maybe more folks would join if there was more happening... I'm trying to come up with new discussions so they'll want to join in.  

I appreciate your efforts Kathy.  :D  I always look forward to your posts.    Now we just gotta get all those guests to register and join in!

That happens to me all the time. It's pretty standard for the ratio of guests to registered members to be significant on any message board.

As for feeling self-conscious about my posts, I never do...because I'm not in the habit of saying things that I don't mean.
