Title: Great Gift Ideas?
Post by oldkathy on Nov 8th, 2006 at 12:04pm
Okay, so I'm doing this Secret Santa thing and I'm looking for ideas for a great gift.  What would you want in the $10 range?  Can't find a decent hairstick in that price!  A claw?  Scrunchies?  Slides?  Combs?  Or is everyone planning on cheating and going over the limit?

Me, I want a special edition Longlocks Hairstick, of course!  But I also like wooden hairsticks, simple scrunchies, and any kind of hairtoy that doesn't eat my fine hair.

Hi Kathy  :)  I'm also doing the secret santa thing, but I'm probably going to focus mainly on non-hair related items.  It is definitely going to be a challenge to come in under the $10 limit, but that's half the fun--seeing if you can accomplish that goal!   ;)

Am I too quick?  I've bought my gift for my Secret Santa coming in the mail to me any day!  It was not easy, but hopefully she'll like the gift.  P.S.  I had fun trying to decide what to get and can't wait to do this again when we have another one! ;D

Picking out the right gift is half the fun.  As for the $10 suggested limit - there are no Secret Santa police that will be check receipts to determine if you stayed under the limit.  8-)

You can check out last year's thread to see what others received.

Well, so far I've never come in at the $10 limit.  I just get an idea and go with it, regardless of the cost.  But that's just me, a rebel.

I take the limit as a challenge that urges me to be creative. As Trisha said, finding something nice at that price is half the fun.
The hairtoy selections of Helsinki have improved a lot during the past few years. Nearly all hairtoys are quite cheap- for me, it's more challenging to find something relatively hair friendly. Of course, there is always also the option of getting something that isn't hair related.
