Title: Can Anyone Offer NYE Celebration Suggestions?
Post by La Diosa on Dec 16th, 2006 at 2:30am
Usually, my husband and I typically get some sort of package at a night club to bring in the New Year.  However, last year I wanted to do something different.  Instead of the usual club thing, I made reservations at an authentic Greek restaurant where we had dinner, champagne and were entertained by a band and belly dancers. That NYE experience was much more enjoyable than just going out to a club.   This year, I'm looking to do something a bit different and interesting again but, I can't come up with any ideas.  Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I was looking online and came across this site that had some different ideas, but still none that I'm opting to use.   These are really sweet and romantic though. :) http://www.theromantic.com/stories/newyears/main.htm

I'm probably the last person to ask about NYE ideas!  I don't think hubby and I have done anything special for decades!  (We've always considered it amature night and have tried to stay off the roads!)

One thought comes to mind - are there any hotels in your area that have theme rooms?  That could be fun!  ;)

Good luck on your search!

CHRISTMAS
oh wow well we usually play box games and sing christian songs, plus my family is so big!!! theres never a dull moment lol, which i love.

We dont usually go out coz its more of a family thing, gathered round the table, big meals, big presents, lots of games and fun etc

NEW YEARS
Again just what i mentioned above however it more friends and some family as not all my family have the same religious beliefs e.g most are catholic but immediate family are christian, so we play games and stuff our faces and laugh till the dawn comes

The dinner idea you suggested sounds great!!

Bikerbraid  My husband mentioned to me today that hotels sometimes have packages so we are going to look into that.  It's a good idea and something we've never done before.  Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Rainbow Your family New Years celebrations sound like a lot of fun!

Rainbow, that does sound like a lot of fun!  How many are in your family?  I have four children.  I get the feeling there are more children than that in your family.  Do you have a lot of siblings?   :)

VictoriaLynn - lol it is, it so great when everyone has work off at the same time!! Anyhow my nan married twice had 5 kids with each hubby each of them had at least 2 kids each so it quite a big gathering, then the christian gathering is big too as we know lots of poeple from different churches so about 40 people all together.

What i love about my family and the christian gathering is that hardly anyone drinks so its all sober fun, i get a bit scared of drunk people but i wont have to woory about that.
Dont get me wrong drinking is allowed in the christian faith but it says we cant get drunk and must remain sober.

That is why i want at least 3 children, i already have a little girl so i am hoping for another one next year trying for a boy now lol, cant wait, even though i hate pregnancy i love the newborn baby and watching it grow to a little person with her own personality its so sweet
