To tell you the truth,if any of these so called diets worked, then all the authors and everyone else involved would be out of a job!!! I have maintained a 75 pound weight loss for just about 20 years. I went from 200 pounds to right now I'm about 117. I did not pay anyone (Weight Watchers,Jenny Craig, etc.)didn't take any "magic pill" or any of that stuff. My thought and heart felt rule is that there is no diet. You make a change in your eating habits for life. Period. It has never ever failed me and for me I am an extremist and very strict with myself. All people are not that way and I don't judge people or look down on anyone if are not. If you do try it,please be careful and take care of your self while doing it. Remember, knowledge is a powerful thing to have. If you want to do something for life, learn and read all you can about nutrition, health and well being. These things have not failed me. :)

If you are hungry....eat!!! It's what you eat and not really how much you eat in some situations.
I drink soymilk, coffee and or water. Wine on occasion. I don't eat white flour products, stay away from sugar, don't drink or eat dairy of any kind. I'm a pescatarian. I only eat fish because I have MS. If it weren't for that I'd be a vegan. The only veggies I don't like are escarole and bok choy. Don't fry anything. All my food is either steamed, broiled or cooked healthy. I use Earth Balance for all my vegan baking. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. The list goes on and on. I read all labels and don't eat fast foods. I do sushi and sashimi. The one thing I will never give up is my coffee. I have eliminated everything along time ago that was bad for me. It is a very strict eating habit, but that's just me. Don't kick yourself if and when you fall off the wagon. Just get back up and on it!! :) It's the kind of weight that's dropped, not the amount. The body likes to hold onto fat and drop muscle. So when you drop a quarter to half a pound a month, just know that it is most likely fat that you dropped. Make sure that you do some kind of aerobic exercise and strength training. It's important to keep the muscle strong. You won't bulk up,promise. You'll get definition and trim. I have been practicing Pilates for just about 10 years and became a yoga teacher in 2003. I can teach either in a chair or on the mat. Flexibility is a major important thing to have. Any more info.,needed please ask. I'm more than happy to help. ;) |
