Title: Start of the season, very muddy bikes included !
Post by Arcadian on Mar 5th, 2007 at 7:56am
Not much of a biker myself so a bit of a coincidence yesterday evening. Saw 4 red faced girls with very muddy bikes all over their even muddier car pulling into my local pub's car park which surprisingly jogged my memory !  ;)

So as we get loads in the summer and these were the first I'd seen this year, thought you all might like an early taste of a very typical English Spring woodland scene not too far from where I live as well.

With a typical local biker's itinerary to begin with put together from the sound of it by an American.... :)

Well let's face it, it's so much easier than having to do it ourselves !  ;)

Waaaaaaa!  I want spring and to ride outside!  We have 2 feet of snow covering the ground - I'm afraid it will be a bit before I see the daffodils poking thru.  Thanks for sharing the description of the bike ride - it makes me want to get out NOW!

Seems like the daffs and primroses come out a little bit earlier each year these days.... :-?

Still bluebells and tulips soon !  :)

Well, we don't have snow but we have had one of the coldest winters on record!  Most of our trees and shrubs are burnt looking from the cold damage.  I'm longing for the bursts of color-your pictures are gorgeous!!!  We're supposed to get up around 80 degrees today, we may have to wait as much as 2 years before we find out if the damaged plants recover!  :'(

Whereabouts are you for such a temperature difference!! It's been so mild here this winter, apart from a lot more rain than usual just 2 days of frost and a two minute hail shower so far ! Then according to Galadriel Finland's had an unusually warm one as well .... ?

Strange.... :-?

Do you get daffodils and bluebells too ?

I live in the desert of Arizona, USA.  I think you can grow bulbs in a pot here.  We have this weird soil that is like cement.  Really!  Its terrible.  I've never seen a bluebell here, I'd bet we don't get enough water for them.

Very beautiful pictures!  We had a very nice sunny day today (it was in the low 60's) but still no greenery or flowers, hopefully we'll get them soon though. :)
