Title: spider vein bursts!
Post by Lisabelle on Apr 8th, 2007 at 10:32am
I have had a loonie (a little bigger than a quater) sized bit of spider veins on my out side thigh for years.  I always wanted to get it removed but never bothered.  Well, lastnight I noticed that they seemed to have burst!  There is blood under my skin like a red bruise. :P I'm off to the doctor tomorrow to get it sorted out.  Has anyone ever has spider veins before?

That's one ailment I've not had.  I hope it is nothing serious.  :-/

I have them, but to a very minor degree. My only problem with them has only been their visibility. One day, after I've amassed an ungodly fortune, I may have them treated by my dermatologist to turn them white instead of purple.

It's a good idea to see the doctor about yours, though, Lisabelle. Unless it's a bruise, internal bleeding is never a good sign. Hope everything turns out ok.

I saw the doctor today and all is well.  He said I will have the bruse for a long time :-[  But I do have make up that covers these things so I'm good.  Whew!

Lisabelle!  I'm so glad everything's OK!!  To help the bruise heal, Arnica Flora gel works wonders!  I think the brand name I use is Arniflora, you may find it in your local health food store.  Do NOT get Arnica that you take internally-it is poisonous to humans when ingested.

Good Luck!!!

Good to hear that is isn't more serious. I can relate to the bruise thing, though. For my sister's b-day, I went with her to a club and as our group was walking across one of the dance floors to leave, some girl kicked me in the leg with her heel while she was dancing. 2 months later, the bruise has finally disappeared, but the lump underneath it remains.  :P

Sakina I have tryed Arnica Flora gel before and it does work wonders, must get some tonight. :)

Angel, Holy crap thats aweful!  I had something simliar happen and it dented my leg for years but it finally went away.

Glad you're okay Lisabelle,:D I was worried about you!:o

I think I'd better pick up some of that Arnica Flora gel myself.  I've never heard of it before, but as much as I bruise, I could definitely benefit from it.  I actually have a bruise right now.  I accidentally dropped a heavy jar and it landed on my foot, leaving a big and painful bruise. :'(

Yeah Curlgirl, it hurt like crazy.  But other than having an unsightly bruise on my foot I'm okay.  This is nothing new though, I'm always banging myself up somehow, I can be such a klutz.::)

lol!  Because of my MS, I am either loosing my balance or bumping into something!  I either have to write down what and where I hit so I remember why there's a bruise there  ::)  I always had great balance before this and it was my sister, that if you looked at her she'd fall down when we were kids!!! ::)

Hi Lisabelle,

Its good to hear that your ok and can cover it up with makeup.   I had a bulging blood clot on the side of my knee. At least your spider veins are nothing serious.

Curlgirl: Writing down what and where you hit is a good idea, I should do that.  All too often my husband will ask me how I'd gotten a bruise and more than likely I'll have no clue.::)

I'm known for random scratches and bruises too. Perhaps I should think about using the CurlGirl method too... I never even remember that I've done anything until I hurt it again.
I'm probably one of the naturally sprainiest (i'm pretty sure that's not a word!) people i've ever met. I have been known to sprain an ankle tripping over a penny, and need crutches for a week.

I've never had to deal with Spider veins or their explosions, Lisabelle, but I'm glad you've got makeup to cover the bruises! May they heal swiftly and not hurt while they heal.
