Title: Digital Camera pictures
Post by Jerry on Sep 2nd, 2007 at 7:18pm
I noticed on this forum and other websites where people take digital camera pictures but instead of using the ten second timer they use a mirror.

I use the ten second timer if I am taking pictures of myself and nobody is around to take pictures for me.  It does take some practice but I think the picture quailty is better.

Any other opinions, comments, thoughts?

I use the timer as well. Although it can be a hassle to scurry back and forth before the timer goes off, the results I get are a lot better than holding the camera while I take a picture.

The timer is difficult to use when trying to take pictures of the back of your head/hair.  You usually want to make sure your hair is in place (i.e. combed) for the pic.  This is tough to do in just a few seconds!

I use the timer for other types of pictures and find it a great tool.

I'm a timer-er too. I've got random stacks of items scattered around the house that are the right height for pictures... It's starting to look like some sort of odd obsession!  a brass goblet on top of a black and silver box, on top of a white box, on top of my wooden jewelry box, which is on top of the dresser,  a glass cup on top of an upside down bowl, on a rescipe book, on the counter, etc...

I was thinking of that when I typed the message and my solution would be to take some test pictures until a person is happy and then keep the good shots ;)

I wonder why they decided to make it 10 seconds?  There should be a choice of 10, 20, 30 or even more seconds to choose from 8-)
