Title: Online blogs
Post by Trisha on Nov 30th, 2007 at 10:29am
Do any of you blog online, like at e-blogger, or yahoo, etc., anything other than the LL personal hair journals?  I've been kicking around the idea of setting up an online blog for a few months now, but I just can't seem to get off the fence.

Not me. I'm not the journaling type.

Gawd...I can't even stay consistent with a paper journal! lol

While I am a member of another forum, LL is the only place that I keep a blog. There's only so much room on the internet for my mindless babble.  ::)

I'm not a blogger either, but I love my iPod! :D

Jerry, I think as a music lover with lots of cd's, you should probably look into one.  It's great to have all of your music contained in one portable source (but backed up on a disc of course). ;)

Sorry to hijak:P

Actually, I have thought about looking into ipods ;)

One thing I like about having a large CD collection is that if I am in a certain mood for something or type of music I have a really good selection to choose from.

Believe it or not, I keep them (and my DVD's) alphabetized :o    That way if I am in the mood for Therion I just go to the T's and there it is.

I looked into getting renters insurance and finally got it.  It insures all of our possessions but if something did happen we would just get money to replace most of it.

I'm not much of a blogger either(actually I think the word blog is a little rediculous, but that's beside the point) Honestly I've tried to start a live journal several times, and always got maybe two entries? before forgetting I had it. The Long locks journal is the first time I've gotten more than ten entries in any sort of journal not made of paper. and most of my paper journals were so filled with poems and drawings that I don't know if it counts.

Well at least you have them alphabetized.  With all of your cd's that must save a lot of time.  And yeah, renters insurance is a must...gotta protect those cd's ;) lol!

The hard to find CD's are in a firesafe box because I made copies of them because a few of them are either next to impossible to find or they are very expensive when they are available on Ebay or somewhere else.

Whaaat? Are there actually people out there who don't alphabetize their CD's??  :o

Funny that anyone would associate iPods with CD's, given that they're 2 completely different music formats.  ::)

I'm not the journaling type, so no blog for me.  I prefer random writings.  ;D

As for iPods and CD's..... I don't have a lot of CD's but I do have them grouped by artist.  I also have 90% of my CD's on my 2 MP3 players (not an iPod).  I didn't put my Christmas music on the MP3 players.  I also have my audio books alphabetized by author then date of release.

I used to have a lot of CD's too (not as many as Jerry though :) )but at my husbands instistance, a few years ago I transferred them all to an iPod.  I couldn't believe how reluctant I was because this way is so much easier.  The songs are grouped by artist, album and custom playlists.  I sold all of my cd's except for the ones that would be difficult to replace if something happened to my iPod.

Ha-ha! Not only do I not have an I-pod, I still don't have a cellular phone, (much to the disgust of everyone who thinks I actually need one).

My CD player is an old 8x from a computer put in a wood box hooked to my tape mon. inputs on a sound system which is a descret 4-channel from 1972. The 8-track is still on AUX port 2 and still works. The cassette is on port 1. The turntable still works. A collection of 33.3 LP's and 45RPM records sit next to it.

Ah, but my Christmas display is very high tech. 96 channels of lights play to music at the top of each hour. After that, it becomes a fully animated Christmas village complete with airport, train crossing, and synconized traffic signals.

Therefore, don't really have time for blogs. Heck, I can't even keep up with art requests anymore!

Speaking of which..... will you be providing pictures of your setup this year?  A video of the syncronization would be fantasic!
