Does anyone here use castor oil on their hair??  Anyone have any experiences of using it?

I have not used castor oil on my hair.  Its very thick, and I expect would be difficult to wash out.  If you try it, you might want to use baking soda in your shampoo or just wash with baking soda and water (one Tablespoon baking soda to one cup warm water).

I'm curious, why are you considering castor oil for your hair?

I have heard of people using castor oil on their hair, but it's usually used by people with extremely thick, curly/kinky hair that tends to be dry.  

Have you tried jojoba oil?  I have fine, thin hair and this works pretty well for me.  I also recently ordered some apricot kernel oil and sweet almond oil, so I will let u know how those worked out

I came across the idea of castor oil in a hair magazine.  Now, I normally don't read these as they just harp on at you to cut/layer/iron your hair but occasionally they throw up a good suggestion.  The use of castor oil caught my eye as I've never heard of it before.  Just thought I'd check with you guys but I guess I'll leave it!  I've been using EVOO on my fine hair and it's working well at the moment!

Hi JL, I think when you find something that works;stick with it!  I would think castor oil would be very heavy on the hair.  If you do try it,maybe a drop to see how your hair responds to it might be a good experiment.  Let us know!

I often see hydrogenated castor oil in hair products, but it seems to be used rather sparingly and in combination with many other ingredients. The other ladies are right that this is probably very heavy on hair all by itself.

im new here but been lurking for a while and decided to take the plung and join. anyway back to your question I use castor oil mixed with either olive oil or sweet almond oil overnight, i heard it helps with growth so time will tell. It is a bit difficult to wash out but it does leave my hair lovely.
